Types of Classes

Here at A Yogi’s Mind, I offer a variety of Class Types and Class Styles to choose from. All classes are 60 minutes long, but a shorter class can be requested if needed. All “In-studio” private classes will take place at Live Oak Wellness or YogaMix Orlando, scheduling subject to studio availability. All “In-home” private classes may take place in the comfort of your home living room, patio, backyard, etc.

Class Types:

Private classes– refers to a class for just you! These classes are personalized for you by a Yoga Alliance Certified Teacher who will travel to your home or meet you at a suitable location of your preference.

Group classes– refers to a class of 2-4 people. These classes are personalized for your group by a Yoga Alliance Certified Teacher to include partner or group elements to the practice.  The teacher will travel to your home or meet you at a suitable location of your preference.

Large Group classes– refers to a class of 5 people or more. These classes are often utilized in office/corporate environments, festivals, bridal parties, or events where an appropriate space is readily available for use. These classes are personalized for your group by a Yoga Alliance Certified Teacher who will travel to your location.

Class Styles:

Gentle– this style is slow paced class, meant to connect your mind/body/breath in a non-aggressive, more relaxed style of yoga. This practice will often include the use of props like a blanket, block, or bolster (which is provided by the teacher). This style is meant to gently warm-up your body for the day

Vinyasa Flow– this style starts with a slow warm-up, connecting your mind/body/breath and moving into a faster, steady paced class which ends with a steady cool down. This style is meant to warm-up your body before a physical day or burn off some extra energy at the end of an emotionally (or physically) tressful day.

Restorative– this style is a very slow paced, relaxing class. Included is meditative breathing exercises which help to relax your mind/body in non-active postures. This style is playfully referred to as “lazy man’s yoga” because the student is supposed to let gravity and props do all of the work. It is intended to relax over-stressed and underused muscle groups in order to relieve tension and stress.

Chair– this style is completed as a gentle, slow paced warm-up for yoga practitioners of all ages. If you have difficulty getting down to the mat or up off the ground due to injury, surgery, or ability level, this class will protect your body while still benefiting from the mind/body/breath connection. In-studio classes, chairs are provided. In-home classes, teacher will not provide chairs.

Aerial– this style can be vigorous or restorative based on your needs/preference. The major benefit from this practice is relief of spinal tension. In order to engage in this practice you must have an aerial swing installed at your home. This cannot be done on equipment the teacher deems as unsafe or at park locations. This practice should not be done by those with extremely high blood pressure. Only available In-home.

Reiki Sessions– this class is restorative based. The spiritual healing art of Reiki works by channeling positive energy into your body, with Reiki masters and practitioners typically placing their hands on the affected areas of the body that need a boost, offering this energy and your body takes in the energy where most needed. Can incorporate the use of sound bowls, crystals, and/or aromatherapy.
